Ian was phenomenal is helping us find the right house. Ian came recommended to us from two friends who had recently bought homes using Ian’s assistance. From the first phone call, Ian was amazing. He was professional and thorough in understanding our wants and needs in a new home. He asked questions, took notes, asked follow up questions; really helping us solidify what we wanted.  Always full of laughter and jokes, when he saw something we needed to be aware of or concerned about he was quick to point it out. He was knowledgeable about the areas we were looking at and had helpful advice. He was patient and understanding explaining homeownership topics and house hunting tips to his first-time home buyers.  Ian went above and beyond helping us narrow our search to the large swath of Anne Arundel County we were trying to target. I think we looked at somewhere around two to three dozen homes in AA county before making the decision to move to Carroll County; even then, there were probably another nine to ten homes to see in Carroll. Ian took our change of county in stride and quickly responded with a list of homes to check out. Honestly, I don’t believe the man actually sleeps, as we would get updates, status checks, and new MLS listings at all hours. Ian was ready whenever we were to help us find a home. He was always easy to reach via email, phone, or text.  There was never any pressure to compromise on what we wanted, though he would occasionally find homes that fit most of our needs to help us compare. Once we found a home, Ian was lightning fast in putting in an offer. We actually put in an offer within hours of seeing the house. He fully explained the process to us and how the negotiations would work. Again, there was never a rush to close, as Ian is more concerned in finding the right home for his buyers.  During the long process of closing on the house, Ian again demonstrated his knowledge and professionalism. He recommended a number of mortgage advisors, inspectors, and companies to help us. None of these companies were pushed onto us, just more of an “I’ve worked with [xyz company] before, and they are good people.” He helped to answer questions, offered sound practical advice, and was a real cheerleader at each step of the closing.  We cannot say enough good things about Ian Shaw. Trust him with your search, because he is amazing.
